The Town of Riverhead Adopt-A-Park Program is designed to encourage the community to work hands-on to help keep Riverhead's parks and beaches clean and attractive. This program creates a framework under which residents and resident groups or organizations can contribute to the Town by "adopting" a section of a park or beach, and agreeing to improve it through litter/debris pick-up, reporting of hazards or maintenance needs, and other manual labor. The program also provides and opportunity for people to get involved with their community!
Who can participate?
This program is open to any individuals, youth groups, neighborhood associations, civic groups, faith based organizations, athletic organizations, service organizations, schools, businesses and other community organizations in the Town of Riverhead that are interested. The Town of Riverhead Parks Department and Buildings & Grounds Dept provide routine park and beach inspections & maintenance repairs. The adopting groups or individuals will be able to give these locations the extra care and attention they may need. Adopters share in improving and enhancing the Town's parks and beaches by working on a variety of approved projects.
