25th Annual Snapper Tournament 
The focus of this tournament is to get youth and adults involved in fishing and to raise money for the Recreation Department’s Scholarship Fund. Prizes include Rod/Reel to the 1st Place winner in each division and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each division. Raffle prizes from local merchants will also be given out immediately following the tournament. T-shirts will be available for the first 50 registrants. We strongly encourage you register to choose your T-shirt size. On-site registration will begin at the Town Dock at 9:00am.

Touch-A-Truck​
Touch a Truck is back! Families are invited to join us for this exciting community event. Children will have the opportunity to touch, climb on, sit in and experience many of the trucks and vehicles they see in their everyday life and community. Very small children and those with sensitive ears are invited during “quiet time” from 1:00-1:30pm so they can enjoy the vehicles without the noise of horns and sirens.

Repair cafÉ
The North Fork Environmental Council (NFEC), in collaboration with the Town of Riverhead Parks & Recreation Department and Long Ireland Beer Company, is sponsoring the first Repair Café in Riverhead. A Repair Café is a place where neighbors come together to share in repair. Some bring broken, loved, or still useful objects, and others come with the tools and skills to help repair them. The Café offers an opportunity for different generations to mingle, people to learn “how to” and “hands-on” skills that have been lost, prized possessions are preserved, and people may discover new career ideas. All while less “waste” ends up in landfills and Co2 emissions and overconsumption are minimized.

Goat on a boat

The Goat on a Boat Puppet Theater is coming to Stotzky Park. Join us for a puppet building workshop followed by a show performed by the Goat on a Boat cast in their mobile puppet theater the “Pup Truck”. The show “The Princess, The Frog, & The Pea” is an adorable mixed-up tale following characters from classic fairytales. Guardians must register their children to participate in the

Join us for our annual Family Turkey Trot! Run, walk, or trot this 1 mile fun-run from Miamogue Park to George Young Community Center in Jamesport. Storm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor museum located in New York’s Hudson Valley, where visitors experience large-scale sculptures under an open sky. Join us for Broadway’s hit musical “Moulin Rouge!” based off of the hit 2001 film. You’ll be transported back to Paris’ famous club the Moulin Rouge in 1899 through popular music of the last century. Make Bus trips fun for everyone

-Please arrive 20 minutes before departure times to ensure your chaperone gets an accurate head count and departure can happen on time.
- Out of respect for those who are on time, we cannot wait for any passengers who are late for departure times.
-Please do not bring anything on the bus that can be distracting or disruptive to the driver or fellow passengers.
-Things do not always go as planned and circumstances like the weather or traffic can affect the trip duration. Try to remain calm so the driver can concentrate and get everyone to the destination safely.
-Please keep safety in mind. Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before approaching the vehicle, and exercise patience during boarding and disembarking.
-Whichever seat you choose please keep that seat for the remainder of the trip. Even through different stops and departures to eliminate lost time, confusion, and lost items.

Counselor in Training Program
Take the first steps to become a Camp Counselor. This course is designed for participants to spend the first half of the day learning how to plan and implement games, crafts, and themed days, discussing safety and behavior management techniques and appropriate ways to interact with campers, and team-building activities. The second half of the day will be spent interacting with campers under the direct supervision of the program manager.

Dog obedience
The motivational method is used to train your dog to walk on a loose lead, stay, come when called, and more. Open to dogs at least 4 months old with a responsible handler. One handler per dog.
